Here’s a wild guess…you suck at money and hate the gym?
You’re not alone!
Managing money and staying healthy and fit are two of peoples’ biggest struggles in life. But what most people don’t know is that they’re totally fixable and connected.
That’s why we (Jaclyn Phillips and Jessica Moorhouse) created the Rich & Fit Bootcamp and are opening it up again to a new group of students on Jan. 7! To prove to you that once you learn the tools and start being more mindful towards your money and fitness, you’ll be able to master these two vital parts of your life in only 7 weeks.
To learn more about how we came up with this unique lifestyle improvement course, here’s a little bit about me (Jaclyn) and how I can teach you how to become strong, lean and healthy.
As you can probably guess from the photo above, I’m a champion fitness competitor, personal trainer, yoga instructor and online fitness coach who can be found in the pages of Strong Fitness Magazine and Inside Fitness Magazine.
But here’s the thing… I didn’t always look like the photo above. I was always pretty sporty growing up, even playing varsity rugby, volleyball, and track and field at St. Francis Xavier University. But after my undergrad, I started law school and that’s when everything changed.
Instead of having a regular fitness routine to get me moving, I spent all my time reading and studying (and eating and drinking). As you probably know, law school is intense and competitive, and working out and eating healthy were the last things on my mind.
After a year of law school, I felt completely lost, drained and burnt out. I had no balance in my life, so I made the decision to leave law school and pursue a career in marketing instead. That’s when I started thinking about what I was really passionate about and what I wanted to focus my time on in the off hours.
I loved how I felt when I was in sports, so I decided to prove to myself that I could get my body back on track and set myself a lofty goal to achieve — winning a fitness competition. I set my sights on the NBPFA provincials, and started prepping with the same fervor I had from my varsity days.
After 3 months of intense prep, I won my class in the competition and that was the beginning of my love affair with health and fitness. Now I coach people how to improve their lives through fitness full-time.
So, when I started talking to Jessica about creating an online course about fitness and finance, it was pretty much a no-brainer in my books.
Speaking of Jessica…
Oh hey there! I’m Jessica, and I’m a personal finance expert, speaker, blogger, podcaster and founder of the Millennial Money Meetup.
Basically, I’m a huge money nerd. I eat, sleep and breathe personal finance because it’s really not about calculations or even dollars and cents. Personal finance and taking control of your money means freedom, opportunity and choice. And when I learned all that as I was struggling to stay afloat in my early 20s, I was hooked.
Just like how Jaclyn wasn’t born with a fitness model’s body, I sure as hell wasn’t born rich. I came from a very frugal middle class family, who didn’t have a lot but did the best with what they had. Because of that, from an early age I learned how important it was to not go into debt and live within your means (and that advice itself is priceless!).
Still, I couldn’t help but want more. I didn’t always want to live on a strict budget. I wanted to be able to travel, buy my own house one day and maybe even retire early.
So, once I graduated from university, I started reading every personal finance book and blog out there. Eventually, I was even inspired enough to start my own blog, and then podcast.
Now, 6 years later, my full-time job is to educate others about personal finance through my blog, podcast, workshops and events.
Understanding how to manage my money myself literally changed my life. When I graduated university (with a film degree no less), I thought I was destined to be a starving artist for the rest of my life. Instead, I decided to take control of my money, not let money control me.
And taking control of your future and the life you want to live is exactly why I got together with Jaclyn to create the Rich & Fit Bootcamp.
But, I bet you’re wondering how on Earth me and Jaclyn met since we’re obviously from two very different worlds.
Well, it all started at a big law firm in downtown Toronto. We both worked in marketing (Jaclyn in business development and myself in digital marketing) for the same company, and Jaclyn had been there for just a few months.
One night, we were both working late and Jaclyn decided to see if there was anyone else still hanging around the office. Low and behold she found me chained to my desk but in desperate need of a break.
Soon we started chatting about our respective side hustles, Jaclyn as an online fitness coach and me as a personal finance blogger and podcaster. We quickly realized how many parallels there were between fitness and finance.
Not only that, we noticed that the other’s struggles were the other’s strengths. Jaclyn wanted to learn how to manage her money better and stop stressing out about it so much, and I wanted to find a workout out program I wouldn’t ditch after a few short weeks.
That’s when we came up with the idea for our first joint venture — the 21-Day Rich & Fit Challenge. It was a free email challenge we put together to teach people about the core principles of finance and fitness, and it was really just a test run for us to see if anyone was actually interested in learning about both things at the same time.
There was definitely an interest because within a matter of weeks we got over 600 people to opt-in. After the challenge ended, we immediately started working on a more in-depth 7-week e-course that would eventually evolve into our Rich & Fit Bootcamp.
It took over a year from conception to completion, but all the time and effort was worth it when we finally launched the Rich & Fit Bootcamp to our first group of students in June 2017.
We launched for a second time in September 2017, and are currently doing the bootcamp with a a new group of amazing students excited to tackle their finances and fitness once and for all!
Like we expected, it was a huge success! Don’t believe us? Then check out what some of our students thought about it in their own words…
Outstanding way to kickstart your healthy financial and fit life!
"Rich & Fit Bootcamp was just the thing I needed to finally get off the couch (literally) and get active. With coaches like Jaclyn and Jessica, you get the support you need to be successful by experts in their fields. The cool part for me was seeing how, as I progressed physically in terms of lost weight and increased muscle mass, I also progressed mentally and started making better financial choices too. Many of us don't realize how mental and physical health go together, and this class perfectly tied it together. The support and live videos with Jessica and Jaclyn was super helpful, too!."
- Melissa Berry, Arizona, USA (Student, June 2017)
Highly recommend this bootcamp!
"Taking care of our physical wellbeing and financial wellbeing go hand-in-hand. This bootcamp will give you a kickstart to take control of both with easy to follow weekly fitness, nutrition and finance exercises, weekly check-ins and group support. Jessica and Jaclyn will give you all the tools to get started on the road to better fitness and finances!"
- Maarika Arget, Toronto, ON, Canada (Student, June 2017)
Great course, fun and informative!
"I appreciated how Jessica and Jaclyn broke down personal finance and fitness in to really easy to understand chunks, and made everything actionable. I learned a lot of practical information that I know will help me in my day to day planning and fitness, as well as my long term goals."
- Ken Yong, Vancouver, BC, Canada (Student, June 2017)
It was awesome!
"My favourite part of the course was the community aspect of it. Being part of the Facebook group with the other students and being able to tune in to Jaclyn and Jessica for their Facebook Lives every week was super helpful and motivating for me. And for the financial part of the course, I loved the budgeting module. It was really well laid out and would be exactly something I would send a friend to show them how to set up an effective and actionable budget."
- Jordann Brown, Halifax, NS, Canada (Student, June 2017)
This course will kick your butt (in a good way!)
"Jessica and Jaclyn provide a ton of useful information about finance and fitness in this bootcamp! I especially loved all the worksheets and checklists they provided. They were incredibly thorough and dove deep into each topic and theme they covered. Most courses I find stay pretty surface level, but not this course. I also thought the workouts were great (but they were hard!). I loved how accessible they were. No need for any special equipment, and you could do them in your tiny apartment no problem."
- Kara Perez, Austin, TX, USA (Student, June 2017)
But those weren't the only transformations...
But those students weren’t the only ones to see transformations in their lives. I also saw a transformation by committing to the bootcamp’s meal plan and doing all of the program’s workouts.
And just in case you’re wondering, yes, I’m short (I’m 5 ft. 2” on a good day). Also, none of these photos have been altered. They were taken with my iPhone by my husband during my weekly checkins.
Also, in complete honesty, I was terrified to share this photo of myself in a bikini, but I also wanted to show just how effective the meal plan and workouts in this course really are.
After Week 7
To give you a better idea of how all of these transformations happened, here’s a look at what’s exactly in the course, what you’ll learn and what you’ll get once you enroll.
What you'll learn
The bootcamp is broken down into 7 weeks, and each week we’ll dive into a specific theme that represents the core principles of both fitness and finance.
You’ll learn how measuring and tracking are key in setting a solid foundation for a wealthy and healthy lifestyle.
You’ll learn how to set goals the SMART way to stop procrastinating and start doing.
You’ll learn how mindfulness plays a key role in balancing effective money management and persevering with your fitness.
You’ll learn how to discover your deep-rooted “Why” to help maintain your motivation.
You’ll learn how to identify your triggers so you can better cope with temptation and stay on course to reaching your goals.
You’ll learn how to accept your past and present to move forward into a richer and fitter future.
You’ll learn how to use all of the lessons from the bootcamp as a guide to living a more financially stable and physically fit day-to-day life.
What you'll get
We’ve packed a ton of content in just 7 weeks, because at the end of it we want you to walk away knowing exactly how to manage your money the smart way and maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle after the program. To give you an idea of everything that’s included in the course, here’s a list of the materials you can expect to gain access to after you enroll.
7 Weeks of Workouts
27 Exercise Videos
4 Cheat Sheets
1 Awesome Meal Plan
3 Big Bonuses!
We want to make sure you get as much out of this bootcamp as humanly possible, which is why on top of all the awesome lessons and materials you’ll get in the course, we’re also offering 3 awesome bonuses!

That’s right, as soon as you enroll in the bootcamp, you’ll be granted lifetime access to the course. That means you’ll never be kicked out and can do the course whenever you want, as often as you want!
On top of lifetime access, you’ll also benefit from any updates and improvements we make to the course, so you’ll always have the latest version of the bootcamp.
Who is this bootcamp for?
Anyone who’s ever wondered “Where did all my money go?”
It’s okay if you have no clue where your money goes, or find that it just seems to disappear as soon as you get a paycheque. As long as you start doing something about it that is.
This bootcamp will be the kick in the you-know-what you need to stop the cycle of mindless spending and feeling like you’re totally lost in all the financial jargon out there.
We’ll break down the core principles of personal finance for you, and give you an actionable guide on how to start making your money work for you, your values and your future goals.
Anyone who’s never been able to stick to a workout plan
You know what makes this bootcamp different than others on the market? Two words — accountability and community.
We’re not just going to hand you a bunch of workouts and wish you the best. We’re going to make sure you actually do them, and we’re going to be annoying about it.
You see, through the backend of the course platform, we can see all of your progress. So if we see that two weeks have gone by and you haven’t done anything, you’ll be hearing from us and we’ll be expecting some answers.
You’ll also be part of our growing community on Facebook, full of other students who have the same struggles as you and are working hard to better themselves. There’s nothing more motivating than being part of a tribe of people working towards the same goals. We’re all stronger together after all!
Who is this bootcamp not for?
Anyone who doesn’t believe in “No pain, no gain”
If you’ve ever said you’re allergic to exercise or you’re broke and there’s just no way to change that, we’re not gonna convince you that you’re wrong and you should enroll in our course.
You see, getting rich and fit is all about mindset. We can’t help people who don’t want to help themselves. We only want people who want to stop making excuses and start taking action to change their lives.
But if you feel like you’re at a turning point in your life and you just need that guidance to help you master your money and fitness, we’re here with open arms. If you’re ready to hustle, have some uncomfortable money conversations with yourself, dive deep into your bank account, feel the burn and sweat like you’ve never sweat before, than this is exactly what you’ve been looking for.
When does the bootcamp start?
The course officially starts on Sunday, Jan. 7. The course content will drip every week and you’ll be emailed with instructions every week so you’ll know exactly what to do every week of the bootcamp.
Will I be rich after this course?
If you take this course and win the lottery, then absolutely! If not, heck no. Yes, the name of our brand is “Rich & Fit”, but we’re not promising to make you rich in only 7 weeks. This isn’t some get rich quick scheme, this course is based in reality.
This bootcamp is all about taking control of your finances so you know exactly what’s going on. It also involves setting your goals for the future, and then making smarter choices and being consistent to help you grow you net worth.
Will I look like a Jaclyn after this course?
In all honesty, probably not. This course isn’t about trying to get you to look like a bodybuilder. This bootcamp is about getting you healthy and leaning out. You will absolutely lose inches and pounds by the end of this program, but as you’ll learn in the course itself, it’s all about setting realistic goals to achieve real change in your life.
How hard are the workouts and how long do they take to do?
The workouts are meant for a beginner, however they are still quite hard. We’re not playing when we say this is a bootcamp. It’s gonna be intense, you are going to be sore after every workout, and you are going to feel pain in muscles you never knew existed.
This isn’t to scare you, this is just so you know what you’re signing up for. If you actually want to get results in 7 weeks, you need to buck up and do the work. So, depending on your fitness level, the workouts can take you anywhere from 30-60 minutes to complete. I (Jessica) always gave myself 60 minutes for each workout since I did start out at a beginner level (meaning I hadn’t worked out for almost a year before doing all the bootcamp’s workouts).
If you have any questions specific to whether these workouts would be a good fit for you or not, please email us.
Will I need internet for this course?
Yes indeedy, because the entire course is online. So make sure you have an internet connection during the 7 weeks of the course.
What format is the course content delivered in?
Our course is a mixture of videos, audio, text, spreadsheets and PDFs. To make sure you know exactly how to go through everything, there’s a helpful tutorial at the beginning of the course that walks you through everything. But if you ever have any questions or need some clarification, we’re always available to help.
How long will I have access to the course for?
Forever! Though forever is a pretty long time isn’t it? So let’s just say we are giving all of our students lifetime access to the course for as long as the course is in existence. You will also get lifetime updates and improvements to the course as well as lifetime access to our private Facebook group.
Will I need to buy anything else to do this course?
Nope! Everything is provided for you within the course itself. Even for the workouts, you don’t need to buy any equipment. All you need in order to do the workouts is a space in your home that’s the size of a yoga mat. If you're looking to challenge yourself with more resistance, you can get a resistance band or use weights.
For me personally (Jessica), I do use a yoga mat to do the workouts since my house is all hardwood floor and tile and I like the extra padding. If you want a yoga mat, but don’t want to spend that much money, I personally suggest getting one at a discount store like Winners, Marshalls or Walmart. I bought mine for $16 at Winners and have had it for over 4 years now (and it’s still as good as new!).
What about the meal plan? Do I need anything special for that?
The meal plan is a high-protein meal plan, so if you’re a vegetarian, please let us know so we can provide you with substitute options. That being said, some of the meal plan does suggest integrating protein powder, protein bars and protein cookies into your diet. If you’re looking for specific suggestions on what kinds and what brands to get, please contact us and we can give you some suggestions.
That being said, the meal plan isn’t mandatory. It will help you get better overall results, but if you don’t wish to use it, then we just recommend limiting your sugar intake, avoiding processed foods, and eating a whole-food, well-balanced diet.
Do you offer any refunds?
We’re extremely proud of our course and the results it gives our students, which is why we only offer refunds to students who have completed the course in its entirety, and can prove to us that they still did not get any results. In that special case, we would issue a full refund within 60 days of the course start date. All refunds are subject to the terms of the full refund policy linked in the footer, so make sure to read that if you’re interested in learning more.
Is my credit card secure?
We take credit card security very seriously, which is why we use Stripe to handle all credit card payments (one of the top payment platforms around).
